The greenway was really busy today as all the spring runners, bikers, and walkers were out despite the high pollen. The temperature was a comfy 68F and no clouds in site. The path has a nice mix of shade and sun. The best part is the mile markers every tenth of a mile. They make it wonderfully easy to keep your pace.
Today we ran 7 miles using the Galloway run/walk method. We ran 4 minutes then walked 1 minute. Previously we had run 7 miles in my training for the Intown 10K and finished that in 77 minutes without taking the walk breaks. Today we finished in 69 minutes. The walk breaks definitely allow for more energy at the end of the run. I am going to use that exact method for running the Spring has Sprung 15K in a few weeks and probably will use it in the Dawsonville Half Marathon in June.
I really enjoy running here. Its actually about thirty minutes drive from my house but the ease of access and quality of the surrounding makes it worth every mile. Next up is running on the Silver Comet Trail which I have been on before both walking and biking but doing a little run should give me a different perspective on the trail.
