One Love, One Heart 5k for CdLS Dec 3, 2011

The first one.  Unbelievable.  I actually signed up to run 3.1 miles just for fun.  The One Love, One Heart 5k for Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation was everything I was expecting.  I want to thank all my Drepung Monastery friends for their support and participation.  The race was cool.  I started too fast to maintain my run 10 minutes, walk 1 minute pace and it was all uphill for the first 2.5 miles but I cruised down the back-end with some help from Jonathon.  He ran back into the pack to finish up with me after finishing the race himself.  It was perfect timing cause I was a little discouraged due to the hills and not being able to pace myself but just having company made the last 10 minutes the best part of the run and I managed to finish in 40:45 well under my intended pace of 14 min/m, which was the fastest I had run previously.  The course loops around and back through the Decatur neighborhood surrounding Medlock Park.  I hope they run this again next year, I can't wait to participate again and see the improvement a year makes.
